When people ask me what my favourite subject to shoot is, I start umming and arring as I can never quite pin point what I love to do. I love people, in all shapes, form, sizes, colours and stages of life. There’s no hiding I love my newborn photography, as it is quite special to be a part of something so important, the welcoming of a new little person into this world. After giving birth women don’t see themselves getting out of the pj’s for the first 2 weeks, yet they make such an effort to come and see me in the first 10 days and I am truly honoured for this. Then you have weddings, another huge milestone in our lifetimes, choosing the person we love the most, the one we want to spend the rest of our lives with and sharing this immense joy with the people closest to us, along with the wedding coordinator, celebrant, photographer, videographer and so on! I love that I’m a part of other people’s love and breathe in the hope and dreams that comes with every new marriage. Families, the subjects I most likely relate to the most, each so unique and different, yet we are so alike in many ways and it’s always wonderful to share experiences and simply voice difficulties we are challenged with in our every day lives.

So no, if you ask me, I have no favourite subjects, but I do have favourite moments from all my different sessions; I loved how nervous we both were going in to this shoot, yet were always ready for a laugh and joke. I love finding that hidden beauty we all have inside, just waiting for the right moment to let it out. I love getting to know one more person from which I can learn from and share experiences with and I love how once all expectations are thrown out the window, there’s only space for the truth and no matter what angle you capture this from, it will always be beautiful.

Thank you cat for our extremely fun session together, you have such a strong warm light shining, that every time you laugh, you make everyone else laugh around you xx

Ultimamente moltissimi mi hanno chiesto da quanto tempo avevo questa passione per la fotografia e come e’ iniziata. In realta’ non ricordavo di aver avuto una passione per fotografare, ma ricordo o meglio tutt’oggi ho una passione per le foto, per gli album, le persone e le memorie. Ogni volta che visitavo mia nonna in quel di Marsure, sfogliavo i soliti 6 album, con foto vecchissime dell’infanzia di mio padre e suo fratello, la loro vita in Townsville Australia e le tante persone che li circondavano. Non importava quante volte le avessi viste o se conoscevo o meno quelle persone, ma quelle foto per me avevano un significato importantissimo e le avrei riviste altre mille volte. Ogni immagine suscitava un emozione diversa e ricordava anche solo un semplice gesto, la quotidianità; quello che alla fine diamo per piu’ scontato e ci dimentichiamo piu’ facilmente. La mia vera passione sono le persone, i loro dettagli e la loro vita, catturarli e’ solo un dettaglio. Pensare che le mie foto fanno parte di album in moltissime case, fa solo aumentare la passione per quello che faccio. Ecco Federico e Renata ~

Lately I’ve been asked how long I’ve had the passion for photography and how it all started. In reality I can’t remember ever having a passion for photographing, but to this day have always had a passion for photos, albums, people and memories. Every time I visited my grandmother in Marsure Italy, I used to look through the same 6 albums filled with old photos of my fathers childhood, his brother and their life in Townsville. It didn’t matter how many times I had seen those images or if I even knew the people in them, those photos were extremely significant to me and I would have looked at them a thousand times over. Every image brought on a different emotion and remembered even a simple gesture, every day life; the things which we give for granted the most and we forget the easiest. My true passion is for people, their details and their life, to capture them is just a small part. To think that there are albums filled with my images in so many houses, only increases the passion I have for what I do. Here are Federico and Renata ~
